Buying. A. House. Is. Awful.
but i am so excited.
my name is chelsea. my husband is peter. after almost 6 months of searching and 4 houses lost we are finally nearing the finish line! well not really because we are buying the ugliest house ever and we are going to spend every spare minute for the next 30 years of our lives (rough estimate) fixing it... that is actually the focus of this blog: what it is really like when 2 crazies jump into a huge mess with both feet... i love all of the DIY shows that show the seamless transition from horrible to beautiful, however i am envisioning something closer to "Renovation Realities" (the show where total idiots try to do everything themselves between emotional breakdowns)... so get ready folks its going to be amazing.
yes i am looking forward to this new time in my life and marriage... fortunately peter has spent his life on job sites building houses so we are not totally lost... unfortunately he told me last night that since its been 3 years since he worked on a house he doesn't really remember anything... awesome... but you will soon learn that peter is the grump in our marriage and i am the dreamer (i will be remaining unbiased throughout the blog, your welcome)...
the plan is to close this friday and start work friday afternoon so everyone pray that we have the money by then (banks are awesome) and that peter doesn't punch anyone at the closing!
Ha ha ha grumpy Peter! i am excited to have you join the blogging world. at least this way I can feel more connected to you since i totally suck at keeping in touch via phone. crossing my fingers for a smooth closing tomorrow :) love you.
